Beschreibung

In "UNTITLED PLAYLIST" a sculpture was based on a pre-existing structure of frosted glass and steel, initially meant to hide people's bodies that were changing after swimming at the Strandbad Tegel in Berlin.

A structure meant to conceal; exclude; protect - similar to what clubs as safe spaces for marginalised groups were for a long time. Factors like commercialisation; gentrification and the non existing support of the government threatened (and threaten) the existence of clubs until today. Playing with exclusion and inclusion, on top of the structure the artist placed a fabric sculpture, reminiscent of a curtain being pulled; setting the stage for sweaty bodies; emphasising the performative nature of house/techno parties. A subwoofer playing the basslines of classic techno tracks gives the stage a soundtrack; evokes a nostalgic feeling in every versed electronic music fan observing the work; encapsulates a threatening character, vibrating the interior architecture and transforming the accomanying works in a new light.
